Pachamamma

PachamammaPachamamma – Creation Fertility guidance card  (#fertilityinspiration)

This new moon Pachamamma calls us to connect with nature.  She helps us to cope with transition.  If your monthly womb bleed falls in sync with the new moon Pachamamma is here to offer comfort at this time or keep you grounded as you come to terms with confirmation of a pregnancy.  This is the time to release worries and incubate seeds (ideas/conception/future direction) for rebirth over the coming moon cycle.

PachamammaPachamama is a goddess also known as Mother Nature, Virgin Mary, Isis, the Earth Mother, Gaia, the Goddess of Sovereignty, the World Mother and the Universal Mother.  She is a fertility goddess who presides over the seasons and cycles. She is an ever-present and independent deity who has her own self-sufficient and creative power to sustain life on this earth.  The four cosmological Quechua principles – Water, Earth, Sun, and Moon – claim Pachamama as their primordial origin.

The Earth Mother is fertility itself, for mankind, creatures and plants.  She is both the womb and the tomb, which is again the womb because she maintains the eternal, rhythmic balance of life.

pachamamma new moonHow can Pachamamma support you this month?

Because pachamamma is the earth mother she is associated with seasons and cycles, nurture, nourishment and rebirth. She reminds us to mindfully connect our food choices with nature to support fertility well being.

Nutrition: The importance of a food diet cannot be underestimated when preparing for pregnancy or trying to conceive. Nourish your fertility and eat mindfully. It is time to consider fertility nutrition.  Choose fertility superfoods,  Seasonal foods and energy remedies .  Enjoy fresh organic seasonal vegetables:

Summer foods: see my last article

Late summer/early autumn:  Artichoke, beetroot, butternut squash, celeriac, kale, leeks parsnips, potatoes swede, sweetcorn and watercress, celery, chicory, chillies, horseradish, kohlrabi,  marrow, pumpkin, salsify, shallots, tomatoes, truffles and wild mushrooms. Seasonal fruits include apples, pears, quince, cranberries, elderberries & medlar.  Maintain protein in your diet using almonds  brazil nuts, chestnuts, chives, hazelnuts &  walnuts  providing you do not suffer with allergies to them. Flavour your freshly prepared meals with herbs such as rosemary, sorrel and sage.  Choose, fresh, organic or free range protein sources from  eggs, goose, lamb, rabbit, venison, beef, duck,  grouse, duck, partridge, pheasant,  turkey.  Remember the importance of  seafoods such as clams, cod, coley, dab, dover sole, grey mullet, gurnard, haddock, halibut, hake, lemon sole, lobster, mackerel, oysters,  monkfish, pollack, prawns, sea bass (wild), sea bream, skate, squid and cuttlefish.  Remember to ensure that are responsibly sourced and farmed to support Mother Earth and your health.

Lifestyle: When you bleed take life at a gentle pace.  This is a good time to consider the cleaning products and environmental toxins or change your sanitary products to non-toxic versions.  It is time to dump any addictions that may be impacting on your fertility health. Make a pact to connect with nature to become baby ready.

Meditation to connect with Pachamamma:

Creation Fertility Guidance Cards

This is a great meditation to do outside if possible.  You can stand, lie or sit.   It takes about 20 minutes so prepare your space before listening and ensure you will not be disturbed.

Here is an alternative shorter version

Begin by breathing in deeply and as you exhale release the breath with a Haaa sound.  Let your shoulders drop as you set the intention of mindfully connecting with Mother Earth.  Find a comfortable place to begin this meditation, sitting upright with your back against a tree would be perfect but I will leave it to you. I would like you to imagine that your torso is the trunk of a tree and your feet are the roots. Visualise the roots growing out of the bottom of your feet, travelling deeper and deeper into the earth towards a strong vibrational energy in the centre of the earth.  This is where the energy of Pachamamma resides.  As your roots connect with her energy, take time to inhale deeply.  Draw her positive energy up through the left side of your body.  Exhale.  As you exhale completely release all worries, concern and negativity down through the right side of your body.  Repeat for at least 5 minutes.  Intend your exhalation to be received by pachamamma who mulches them into re-birth and new beginnings.  If you feel a deep connection with Mother Earth you may benefit from holding a crystal. The crystal associated with Patchamamma is mookaite. You could hold it whilst listening to the mantra Sat Kar Tar is associated with pachamamma/Gaia energy.

Ritual: Take time to be outside daily.  Go for a walk in nature and mindfully connect with the Earth and the season.   If you wish you can also place an offering to mother nature.  Some women offer a small cup of their bleed to the earth with the intention of re-birth.
