Mindful Solstice Ritual

The Summer solstice  is on the 21st June.  It marks the mid-point between the year and offers us time to pause, celebrate, reflect and set intentions for the coming 6 months.  I doubt I need to remind you that the last year has been “different” and it is easy to get caught up in the negativity of the situation. However, we are light beings and this little mindful practice reminds us that we are what we think so let’s turn our mindset into light.

This ritual came to me as I immersed myself into this year’s  summer cleanse – which I am just completing.  I hope you enjoy it.

You can focus your attention on the format the ritual has offered or focus it on your fertility journey.  What I would suggest is that you read my full article and watch my video before doing it for yourself.

Mindful fertility solstice ritual

Let’s begin this solstice ritual by preparing your space.  Turn your phone off, make sure you are not going to be disturbed and get a piece of paper, pen, colouring pencils or paints or whatever helps you be creative.  This mindful solstice practice takes about 20-30 minutes plus either of the mindful meditations practice beforehand or some fertility yoga .  Prepare your room and apply some Creation essence .

Mindful Meditation  1.  Just Breathe

Get into a comfortable position, ideally with your spine straight.

Close your eyes.  Take deep, slow breaths. Become aware of the sensation of air flowing in and out of your lungs.

Stay like this, in the present moment, experiencing your body and the world around you, without your mind drifting into abstractions.

When you feel calm begin your solstice ritual (see below)

Release the past 6 months

Begin by releasing trauma, negativity.  Even though the first half of the year may have been super positive for you – such as completing a  pre-pregnancy cleanse; identifying fertility concerns; researching  assisted conception procedures or  receiving results of your functional tests the fact of the matter is that you may not still be pregnant, are struggling with your current pregnancy or are ready to release the whole fertility journey. So, take a moment and consider the past 6 months. Acknowledge what has been going on. Do not get into the emotion of it – try to see it as an observation.

Then we focus on the coming 6 months

Once you have completed the past we focus on the coming 6 months:

Here are some thoughts to consider.  Where are you going with your fertility journey?  Maybe you are going to concentrate on your conception window, increasing sperm health, recovery from assisted conception. Perhaps you are going to include regular  fertility massage;  reflexology or healing?  What about your nutritional status?  Are you looking at surrogacy, adoption, fostering or overseas clinic support? What can you commit to over the coming months?  Write it down and make a plan.

 

Mindful meditation 2: Be Peaceful

Thich Nhat Hahn offers this short mindful meditation in his book Being Peace:

“Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment.”

Sitting calmly, consider this verse and then repeat it to yourself  with intention daily.  You can repeat the mantra as many times as you feel right for you.  Remember to pause and breathe between each mantra.  I would suggest you begin with 7 repetitions daily and work up to 21.  Use carnelian and moonstone crystal mantra bracelet to count the repetitions if you like.  Alternatively you can use this month’s mantra
